The Salt River Schools Education Board has approved a spending plan using the Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) to construct additional classroom and/or staff/adult space, as well as construct an addition parking lot, building renovations and IT improvements. The ECEC is collaborating with SRPMIC Public Works and IT for these projects.

When the ECEC was built, there was a plan for future expansions that could allow for approximately 12,000 additional square feet. One idea: If we were able to add a second story (staff space only), we could increase the square footage of our site, and therefore allow us to serve more children and families. Keep in mind: Adding classrooms will require additional classroom staff, support staff, supervisors, family advocates, enrollment support, office support, etc.

Below are the five-year focus areas for the Head Start grant:

  • Increase services for children
  • Increase services for guardians
  • Recruit and retain a highly effective work force

The ECEC will create an expansion/renovation committee consisting of representation from ECEC leadership, staff, and parents/guardians to guide this work. The committee will need feedback on what our stakeholders like you would like to see in classroom, staff/adult, and parking lot spaces, as well as what you see as renovation needs at the ECEC.

We hope this information helps you make informed choices on the survey below. Please call the ECEC with any questions at 480-362-2200.
