Sharing on behalf of our partners at Public Works: We would like to share an update regarding an important facility improvement taking place at the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) and Education Administration facilities. This summer, work began on a comprehensive roof replacement project on several areas of TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) roofing systems at ECEC and Education Administration Facilities.
This project is funded through the SRPMIC Fiscal Year 2026 Capital Improvement Program and includes replacement of the aging roof systems at the ECEC and Education Administration facilities.
Construction activities began in July and are now underway. Projects of this size typically require approximately three to four months to complete, weather permitting.
Project Highlights:
- Demolition of all TPO roofing systems on the ECEC facility and EDU Admin Facility.
- Installation of new modified bitumen roofing with no VOC.
- Installation of new coping and parapet caps at roofing transitions.
- New roof hatches at multiple access locations.
- Majority of the work to take place off hours (nights and weekends).
- Scope does not include any work to standing seam metal roof.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as this important project moves forward. These improvements will help protect our facilities and provide safe, reliable buildings for the Community for years to come.
